What is your name?

Με λένε… (They call me…)

– Πώς σε λένε;
(What is your name?) (singular, informal)
– Με λένε…. Εσένα;
(My name is…. Yours?) (singular, informal)
– Πώς σας λένε;
(What is your name?) (plural and/or formal)
– Με λένε … Εσάς;
(My name is…. Yours?) (plural and/or formal)

σας = plural of ”σε” (you)

εσάς = plural of ”εσένα” (you)

μας = plural of “με” (me)

εμάς = plural of “εμένα” (me)

Note:

The verbs and pronouns in the Greek dialogues don’t correspond to the English translation. The translation is meant to be functional.

In Greek, the phrase “my name is” is in the 3rd person plural: “People call me by this name”.
